SPEECHES

You shall work with a couple of speeches:

- your job is to read the speech and hear it – make a print from American Rhetoric

- next you must summarize its content (: what is the speech about)

- find out what means the speaker uses to enhance the effect of the speech

- you must pick out a piece of it and read it out aloud

- lastly you should find and read some background material – follow the links

- - and present the whole thing in class:

· present the speech, the speaker and the political background

· present the main issues being discussed in the speech

· present some of the means used by the speaker (- the technique of the speech)

· read out a passage from the speech and explain why you chose this part of it

· please find a couple of examples from the actual speech
